KIDS FOR FREEDOM FLOTILLA SET THE SAILS FOR THE 8TH TIME
For the 8th time our children flotilla Kids For Freedom set up the sails in Turkey. This year our friendly fleet is of 12 boats with the 60 kids from 7 countries: Austria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia and Turkey.
The project started in 2003 by Berni Blaha with the support of his friends and the team. Kids For Freedom aka K4F is a non-profit yachting innitiative for socialy weak children from all over the word, providing them with an educational and adventure network, supporting multi-cultural and multi-religious appreciation, widening one’s horizon, mediating sense of responsibility and mutual support.
Once again we are sailing for a week like a big international family along Turkish costs, enjoying sunny weather, warm sea and fair winds. Apart from learning the first steps of sailing, our kids are pretty busy ashore as well: playing different sports, making bracelets and neckless for their new friends, having funny body paintings, enjoying our discos in the evenings and just having a great times together, despite 7 different languages of our fleet.
We are also getting ready for our final concert, which will take part in Back Street Disco in Marmaris: training various dances, acrobatics and Kids For Freedom song in 5 languages.
K4F thanks all of our sponsors, boat owners provided their boats for flotilla, all friends and volunteers , who made it possible for kids!
We are looking forward to the next year K4F sailing turn which will take place in July 2012.
